Stewed dark fruit in this very pretty, not overripe, Napa merlot. Sideways screwed this grape so unfairly. Almost like a nice, mature right bank Bordeaux. QPR is fantastic.

$13 (Costco) Napa Merlot 2016 Sterling Vineyards. Mid-dark garnet, viscous (14.7 alc.); ripe grape, black fruit, herbaceous, blackberry nose; medium acids, tannins; a bit tart on the medium long finish. BBQ burger wine. 15.5 UC Davis scale, 89 other scales.
