Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 89.5 points

  • Second wine at Elyse Winery before the Taste of Yountville. Light greenish yellow in appearance. Clean on the nose with some honeyed nuances, wet gravel and stone fruits. Medium plus acidity (6.5/10) with a medium minus body. Crisp palate with citrus zest, lemon, a touch of grass, minerality and honeydew melon. Medium plus length finish. Drink till 2022.

Definitely seems to be a day two tasting.

  • Second stop on day three and finally made it to Napa. We tasted through some wines from Standard Deviation Wines and Addax Wines with Josh and Cheryl at Brasswood. First up is the Sauvignon Blanc from Standard Deviation. Fruit is all the Friulan clone of Sauvignon Blanc from a single vineyard in Bennett Valley. Aged in 50% new French oak and made by Justin Harmon.

Light lemon yellow with a greenish hue. Powerful nose with stone and citrus fruits like lemons, peaches, some melon and strong minerality. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. Creamy attack with some heft to it and notes of citrus and stone fruits. A little bit of grass on the backend too. Long finish. Drink till 2023.
