  • Labor Day meal. Darker ruby. Nose of raspberry, damp cellar, violets, stony earth. Transparent display of beautiful, ripe raspberry and Bing cherry fruit On the palate cut with bits of iron and fine earth. Lovely acidity and smoothed tannin. Long finish of pure red and black berry. A beauty.

  • The 2015 Laurel Hood Pinot Noir Pearl Reserve. This bottle has been in the fridge for 4 days and is still full of fruit and light tannin. Aromas of rose pedals and cherry. This wine is made with neutral oak and in limited quantity. The wine maker (Laurel) learned wine making from the legend David Lett. She makes the wine all by herself and knows how to make a beautiful Pinot noir. If you are ever in Canon Beach, OR...be sure to stop by her small wine store (Laurels Wine Shop) and grab a bottle. You won’t be disappointed. Wine can age another 5 years easily.
