  • Rather vibrant nose with ripe plummy fruit. Medium bodied, supple and smooth with firm acidity and gentle tannins, delivering red toned ( lingonberries) tart fruit/berries with a gentle dusty finish. Felt overall very nice with clean fruit and good texture. Came to think of Burgundy(!) if that makes any sense. Great value.

  • 14% alcohol, 2 g/l residual sugar, 5,8 g/l acidity. Tasted blind in VV.

Almost fully opaque dark cherry red color with a hint of purple hue. The nose is quite ripe and powerful, but more savory and meaty than sweet and unctuous. There are bold, dark-toned aromas of plummy fruit, juicy chokeberries, some boysenberries, a little bit of gamey character, a hint of peppery spice and a touch of savory wood. The wine is moderately full-bodied, serious and grippy on the palate with pretty powerful flavors of ripe blackberries, meaty umami, peppery spice, some fresh plummy fruit, a little bit of spicy old wood, a hint of some mushroomy character and a touch of dark chocolate. The wine is moderately high in acidity with positively firm and grippy medium-plus tannins. The finish is quite firm and grippy with quite fresh and savory flavors of ripe red fruits, succulent red plums, some brambly blackberry, a little bit of peppery spice, a hint of spicy old oak and a touch of chokeberry.

A big but very balanced and not-overdone Chilean red with great structure. Drinking well now, but I can imagine this could actually benefit from further aging. Definitely among the better Chilean entry-level reds, great value at only 13,30€. Recommended.
