  A little sweet at the front but the acid lingers to balance out the taste. Good tannins in the background, holds together very well. Excellent wine!

  On the nose. strawberry, raspberry, red liqorice, toast, something a little animal. Quite herbaceous - almost mint which is surprising and intriguing. On the palate, dense and dry but a silky quality. Flavors of a very well made red fruit compote - nothing jammy at all. Some cinnamon and clove on the finish. Acid is at most medium and I think that detracts from the wine leaving a little flabby.
  
  Improved on day 2 with greater balance and sweet fruit and earth coming through on the palate. Still some tannic grip - needs time. Intriguing wine - at times, shows a little average but now and again a great wine shows through.

  Typical aromas with more masculine tones, yet so seductive and surprisingly fresh with raspberries, cool plum, roses and violet. Medium-bodied wine with good structure and more coarse mouthfeel. Dark raspberries, plums, leather and with clear saltiness. This is heavier and powerful, yet refined and sensual. Missing the nuances of the Grand Cru level, but surly a great wine. 92 points.
