Still vibrant and fresh. Wonderful intensity of pear drops, mango and mangosteen on the full weight palate. Long and complex. Drinking perfectly now, doubt it will improve.

March Rhônes (Chicago, IL): Reductive to a fault on the nose. The palate is much better with surprisingly high acidity for a Condrieu. I'd have loved to try this if the nose hadn't been so marred by the sulphur.
Lemon in colour, the nose shows the light scent of violets, tinned cling peaches, ripe mango, spicy almond, and a savoury mineral quality. Full in body , with medium acidity , there are flavours of ripe apricots and ginger. The finish is dry and intensely saline. Mature and perfect with food , but drink up soon!

Pale lemon-green color. Medium strength aroma that’s quite savoury - vegetal (maybe squash) and rubber.
Full body, quite high alcohol. Pretty long finish. My main knock on the wine is that, with little acid and a big mouthfeel it seems a bit flabby. Very enjoyable, savoury flavour, some green apple but more of the squash, and a nice minerality to offset the typical oleaginous viognier texture.

Ravinia at Home (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL): Note from memory from last night. Classically Condrieu with buttery richness and intense floral character. Good weight and balance for now, but I'd expect this is better now than it will be in another year or two given some warming hints at the end. Consistent with how this tasted in the Rhone a year ago.
