  • An unexpected birthday gift from a friend of my daughter's in Sweden. Medium gold colour. Very interesting yet subdued nose of lanolin, candied ginger, yellow plum, pea pods, perhaps even a touch of botryitis spice. Off dry entry, quite full bodied, almost oily, with a lot of phenolic and soft tannins lending some pleasant astringency on the finish. The flavors are clearly Semillon / Savino Blanc only richer, mellow and less in your face. Yellow plum, lanolin, green tea and a touch of spice. Very interesting experience and quite tasty.

  • Closed, muted notes of nuts and hay. I have to say that this is very disappointing, a rather weak display of tired fruit and poor effort in the winemaking department. Usually, oxisidised wines compensate for lack of fruit and freshness by bringing extraordinary length or intensity but this is weak, lacklustre. Very poor value. At about a fourth of the money this would be acceptable but this is awful.
