Medium gold in the glass. Lively aromas of peach, mango, citrus, and musky white flowers. Slight effervescence with medium-high acidity and clean, crisp flavors of pineapple and yellow apple over a slight, funky note of yeast. Dry and bright, and great with spicy food.

Drinking this a little later than I would normally do but 18 months of lockdown have meant I’ve not travelled to:Portugal to drink the wines I had bought last time I was there. Despite being stored upright in a warm cupboard it tastes pretty good. The palate is round with a nice balance of acidity and fruit, citrus and stone fruits dominate with a spicy finish. Reliable, as ever, despite the wines COVID-19 induced lock down in a warm cupboard!

Colour between pale yellow and pale golden, smells of grapefruit, pear and hazelnut, medium body, dry, but not in a tart way, doesn’t have much acidity like other Vinho Verdes have (for example like the 2018 Escolha we had yesterday), in the mouth pear, hazelnut and grapefruit, has a certain creaminess, in the aftertaste grapefruit, pear, hazelnut and also acidity, good length (15 sec), not a typical Vinho Verde, but a serious white wine, yet not such an “alcohol bomb” as is typical for white wine from southern Europe.

Solid everyday Vinho Verde, maybe a little bit too much on a fruity side for me. VGV, abt. 7 USD locally.

Summer sipper - could use a little more acidity, but it's drinkable.
