"engine revver" as my friend put it! This is great Barbera.
Nice riper cherry and cranberry notes, as befitting the warmer Nizza meso-climate. BUT the ripe fruit is offset but great mineral notes and some fresh herbs and tomato leaf. Medium bodied, great acid. There is some oak on this wine but it is very well integrated. Great pairing with Pizza

At Tasting Event...Rep mentioned this is a recently new designation of the Barbara grape in Italy, slopes must face a certain way towards sun. Complex for sure, and needs time to develop further, maybe 3-5 years more and to last at least 8 years. Otherwise it has all the goodies can discern for a nice cellar bottle of Barbara (rare), but do not call it that for it is now Nizza! Fruit to last, acidity, subtle oak, strong tannins at the moment. May get (1) to cellar and see what will come as quite curious of all its stuffing and how will evolve. Served to us from bottle. Tasting score 90-91.
