My first bottle in almost two years, this (L1833319221) seems slightly more austere than the previous bottles, so I suspect its in a dumb phase, which I did not expect. That said, it retains its smooth, silky mouthfeel, medium body and long finish, and it's a perfect 13*. I still expect the to be a 93 in the 2025-2030 window. Good, but not great, QPR.

My second bottle. Decanted one hour, this is a medium-weight, smooth, balanced wine with very nice red-fruit aromas, a bit of aromatic complexity, floral hints, excellent acidity, gentle tannins and a very long finish. Slightly better on night two. I do expect this to evolve well for 5-8 years. At $26 or less, this is a good QPR.

Was excited to try a Pinot from Argentina and had high hopes based on reviews here and elsewhere. Average Pinot and below average at $29. Tried a bit right out of the bottle , and then after 1 hour and 2 hour decant, and not much improvement. Nothing really ever emerged. Could be convinced to try again if I here differently from others. Maybe wait a year, longer decant?

The 2017 Grand-Pere from Domain Nico is a lovely, medium-weight Pinot Noir with excellent red-fruit aromas, floral hints, a silky, balanced mouth-feel, excellent acidity, and gentle and integrated tannins. It has an understated sappiness and a very long finish. It needs at least a 45 minute decant, and was excellent on night two. At $26 or less, this is a good QPR, but I would resist paying more, at least for what is showing up today.

A nice wine, with plenty of structure to evolve for years to come, but I remain a bit underwhelmed given the big build-up of the wine by Laura Catena.
