A riveting and delicious young village Gevrey. Lush, round, fresh fruit that is laced with meat and spice throughout. Mouth watering finish keeps you coming back for more. A real joy.

Barrel Tasting at Sylvie Esmonin with Sylvie (Gevrey Chambertin - Clos St Jacques): From 20 climats averaging 55-60 year old vines. Impressively stuffed nose with meaty black cherry and smoke. Mouth coating rich fruit that is sufficiently fresh and bright. Flavors that just scream Gevrey with meat, earth and spice. Strong village wine. 91+

Burgundy, Day 1 (Beaune, France): Barrel sample. 55-60 year-old vines from over 20 different climats. Not too easy to taste given a bit of fizziness still. The earth tones here are again dialled up a little more, but there's still the ripe fruit of the vintage manifesting itself in a relatively blacker profile.
