(BERT SIMON Ser Wurz SPATLESE) 1998 German Dear Friends, We offered this wine a few years ago, directly from Bert's cellar (his personal stash) and we've been getting re-order requests ever since. It was one of the deals of the year in 2006 and it remains in the same league today. A ten year old Spètlese (at or near peak) from one of the good-guys in the wine industry ? When current release 2007's of comparable worth will be $30+ and require another decade or more to show themselves, the price seems a little silly. I put my money where my mouth is with this one - I started with two cases of this wine in 2001 and it keeps surprising me with each bottle opened. It is just a delightful bottle of aged Spatlese with a lovely bouquet and fine, elegant soil tone - there's not much to say. We are only getting this additional lot (at basically the original release price) because of a personal favor I cashed in. While you can, please take advantage of my strep-throat fog in underpricing this item (I'm sure any other US listings for this are at least $35-40 and they are not directly from the library cellar): (you can disregard the "Drink now through 2005" note, the wine has barely reached it's peak) Look up whatever additional TN's you need to on this - I'm sure others have enjoyed it as well... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a crazy value and great opportunity to enjoy an aged bottle of German Riesling. ONE FINAL SHIPMENT - directly from he source with perfect provenance: 1998 Bert Simon Serrig Wƒrtzberg Riesling Spatlese (Saar) (this is NOT the Kabinett) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Germ9973

(Bert Simon Serriger Wurtzberg Spatlese) This is drinking perfectly today with nice petrolly, minerally and complex flavors along with great ripeness. Not profund but delicious right now.
