Dense. Ripe and close to being an over-the-top kind of Pinot. Not my style for sure, but plenty of fruit albeit lacking nuance. Some heat on the finish doesn't help the balance.

Carneros, Calif. 2012 Hyde Estate Winery Pinot Noir Hyde Estate ($35 in August 2020). Mid-brick, amber edges; viscous (14.9 alc.); black fruit, wood, stemmy, ripe grape nose; mid-plus tannins/acids; long, deep, fruity finish. w/tri-tip. 17 UC Davis scale, 92 other scales.
