Plum, blackberry, black raspberry, savory herbs, menthol, pine? Long sweet fruit finish-sweet ripe bing cherries. Flavors persist for 30 seconds or more. Deep garnet in color, very complex.

From 75cl, cork not seen. Big, round, soft, fully-mature Barossa shiraz, fully mature but still in fine fettle. Good balance with acid-tannic backbone, bouquet garni herbal action and (duh) ripe blackberry-led fruit. 88-89P

Drank on crisp fall night outdoors. The chill did the wine some favors. Strong tannins with concentrated fruit/jam notes. Not quite past it's prime, but drink soon before it goes south.

1hr decant, drank over 3 hours. Cloudy dark purple, soft, subtle, raspberries, a little bitter on the back palate but probably because the wine started to collapse in the decanter. Easy drinking, drink now for sure it wont keep.

opened with very jammy fruit driven palate but this was lost over time in the glass - smoothed out but maybe getting to the end of its time
