This bottling is right up the middle and drinking well now. I see no reason to wait. Balance of fruit (red fruit), bramble, alcohol, tannin. Label says "table wine" and this description is appropriate. QPR at $35.00 is decent although I am not in a rush to seek this bottling out. The field for zinfandel in the $30-$40 is crowded - I would sooner buy something from Bedrock (including the old vine for $20.00), Carlisle, Limerick Lane, and select Turley bottlings.

This is ratcheted back, softer, not like zins that elbow their way into the room. It's content to be a sideman to your food, not the star; it's so food-friendly you laugh when you first sip it. But this still expresses the funky, rowdy, impish nature of zinfandel. One of my favorite cuvees -- if not THE favorite -- from a superb zin producer who delivers massive QPR. Get some if you can find it.
