  • apparently this is in the drinking window. and perhaps it's the style, but it's a little inky for my palate, maybe too young?

...dark and opaque. nose is fruity and floral, rich, sweet but green. palate is full-bodied, a little green and stemmy, but there's ample fruit to see this improve and soften in bottle, if you're inclined to wait a few more years.

ps with the help of a peugeot wine ager, this was quite nice. several dips of the copper alloy tool smoothes the wine out and resolves the tannin.

  • First BBQ of the year at the German coast.

1h decant felt too short, lots of dry oak (18 months maturation in French oak barrels) and tobacco initially. Really beautiful Malbec after another hour or so, with red and black cherries, tobacco, violets, soft tannins, vanilla, and a long finish. Early drinking window, I guess. Parker rated 93p, Suckling 95p.

  • Malbec that comes from the Angélica, La Pirámide, Nicasia, Adrianna and Angélica Sur vineyards at 920-1,450 meters of soils of alluvial, frank-clay and frank-sandy origin, with boulders and gravel in the interior. Ferment in barrels of 225 to 500 L, indigenous yeasts, and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Without clarifying or filtering. Ripe red fruits, spices, violets, juicy, silky, enveloping, fresh, mineral, elegant and persistent. Nice wine!!

  • Blackberry, black plum and cedar. Touches of cocoa and tobacco. Full bodied with a core of ripe black fruit and medium acidity. Pleasant tannic structure. Acceptable finish. Good but not particularly exciting. Drink now or hold.
