Mini-Cellar Diminishment Party & Blind Cabernet Bordeaux Blends (Temecula, CA): Tasted side by side with the 2015 Klopp Ranch. Many preferred this wine over the younger version. I enjoyed both equally. Full mature earthy, mushroom aromas. Still plenty of fruit and spice box on the finish. Fascinating experience to see, taste, and smell how a decade can change a wine.

The red wine of the day. Dark red fruit profile that is silky, deep and balanced. Lovely maturity that is singing and balanced. Long finish. Bravo - a terrific new world Pinot. (92)

92-94: tough to judge side by side with the Krug. This wine definitely has a softness that differs from the ME single vineyards. While this pinot was more on the elegant side, it still held its own with food, and the finish was good. Tannins are gone, and acid is softening.

Medium-light red, garnet-edged. Harmonious nose, raspberry, blueberry, sandalwood, vanilla. On arrival, light tannin and medium -low acidity; supple not thin. Flavors favor the berry side of the chart for once with Merry, the more usual herbal notes and wood kept in the background - nice ! Finish is long. Terrific example of a top vintage for Pinot noir in the RRV. Bottle #1 of one.

From magnum. One hour decant. Just a beautiful pinot noir that is approaching maturity. Plenty of fruit with engaging secondary characteristics.
