Coravined into little decanter for tasting (like a splash decant). Deep dark purplish color. Blackberry, black currant, basil, dark chocolate, and tangerine gum drop. Smooth, tongue drying palate. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.
There’s a bit of potential built into my score. This needs a long decant if drinking now. I’m told that Waypoint will no longer be making a CS going forward. Their focus is on whites and Pinot according to my host at New Frontier Wine Co.

Coravined into little decanter for tasting (like a splash decant). Deep dark magenta color. Orange-infused milk chocolate and cassis on the nose. Smooth , slightly tongue drying palate, with nice, lingering acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.
My score is a placeholder at this point due to the youthfulness of this wine.

Decadent and not meek, this has concentration and a full body. There is still some lift. Blackberries, mocha, black cherry, dried shallots, crumbling rock and flower shop. Unctuous and not meek, with a long finish. After an hour in the decanter it is showing an approachable side. Velvety tannins. Drink 2024 - 2034.

Informal notes at Vine Vault mega tasting 33 wines in all......all wines open 60-90 min by time they were consumed. Most were slow ox'd in bottle, some were double splash decanted, a few were straight decanted.
Another in a long list of 90-92's from this evening. A very pleasant drinker from what I can remember, just nothing in particular stood out. We thought maybe lesser rows of fruit from this vineyard? Again, maybe an airtime problem?
