Tassi, Bettina Cuvée, Franci, Brunello di Montalcino, 2016: This is a wine I had waited to taste for over 4 years. The first kosher, non-mevushal, Brunello di Montalcino from a great producer and vintage! Thank God, it does not disappoint. Deep cherry red in color. On the nose, a bouquet of cherries, plums, roasted herbs, leather, vanilla and wood smoke. Medium to full-bodied, medium-plus intensity, with on the palate, notes of morello cherries, rich earth, and gentle smokiness, oregano and thyme, with medium-plus acidity and firm, chewy tannins gently coating the mouth with hints of dark chocolate-covered coffee beans and dried porcini mushrooms on a long, elegant and luscious finish. Very young but immensely promising. 14.5% Abv. Drink 2026-2038, maybe longer. 94+
