Early dinner gathering (Capital Grille, DC): Perfectly mature nose displaying subtle sweet yellow fruit, granny smith, lemon curd, caramel, brioche and limestone. Beautifully integrated palate, subtle yellow fruit, medium generous fine mousse, delicate, elegant and beautifully balanced, good acidity and strong mineral, and a seamless long subtle yellow fruit driven finish with caramel and brioche at the end. This is delicate and elegant but also quite complex. A pleasant surprise, really enjoyable.

Uncorked DK tasting: 1993 Burgundies and some other wines that were actually great! (Peter Solberg): Very fresh and floral on the nose with some sourdough. Green apples and lemon and a bit of caramel dominates the taste, but the aftertaste reveals some pleasing dark breadcrumbs before it turns a bit dry and acidic. A nice champagne, but still backs 1998 as a somewhat weak vintage.
