Advanced and oxidative aromatics of burned sugar, tons of nutty flavors, a layer of caramel. Bruised pear fruit and apples. Nice intensity on palate which still showed sufficiently fresh while also sporting a fine layer of cream. Bubbles mostly gone, however.

Tasted double blind. The wine showed well, particularly after some aeration, becoming more complex as time passed. The quintessential Taittinger style was evident throughout. However, for a higher score, I would have preferred more effervescence. It earns a solid 92 points.
TN: This wine, lacking in bubbles, offers a fine tapestry of caramel, citrus, smoke, and herbs, supported by mineral undertones and adequate tension and acidity. A slight oxidative character is present but integrates well on the palate. With time, it gains in brightness and fruitiness, with quince and honey emerging.
Decanting: No extensive decanting needed.

nose of toasty brioche, marmalade, very nutty, and also smoky like aged tangerine peel. So rich on the palate with a lot of depth. Drinking absolutely beautifully.

Davyd's bday at Dakota poolside. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, amber gold colour. Thin legs. Some remaining small bubbles. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of mushrooms, almond nuts, kumquats, tangerines, citrus, some faint floral perfume (or was it the air fresherner? haha). Developed. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, low alcohol |(12%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of tangy citrus kumquats, tangerine, nuttiness, wet stones, and a layer of honeyed cream. Long finish. Very good quality. Clearly very old and time to drink up already. Could have been better a couple of years ago. Acidity sensation dipping, and bubbles almost gone. No rancio yet for this bottle luckily.

WB Boys Weekend; 10/14/2021-10/17/2021 (Highlands NC): This lasted for about 5 seconds. There was a little darkness, a little fizz, and a cool hard lemon candy that had melted, then a little toffee. My wine.
