Congratulations to Dave Corey. This wine is still showing well, although I think it may be past its peak. Black fruits and some cedar. The tannins are still evident but smooth. It has aged well and is smooth from the attack through the finish. Still big. Quite popular with a co-worker who said red wine usually gives him a headache.

This wine has picked up a lot of weight in the three years since my last bottle. Nose of blackberry, smoke, creosote, chocolate and wood. Palate offers more blackberry, with black cherry, chocolate, roasted meats, and minerals. Surprising smooth for such a heavy flavor profile, but not very complex or nuanced.

My last 2005 Hard Core or any Core for that matter. Was quite enjoyable with predominantly strawberries and raspberries. I'm drinking this by itself at the end of the day trying to figure out what it might go well with. I'm definitely thinking it would hold up well to a traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner or some lamb for that matter. This is definitely not a restrained wine but it certainly has it's place nonetheless. My 11 year daughter said it reminded her of a red sour patch kid. Hard to disagree. YMMV.

This wine is in a good place. Notes of blueberry and raspberry on the nose and palate. Not as full throttled as it was young, and is quite smooth through the mid-palate.

Give this an hour to come together. A little too acidic for my tastes but otherwise a good bottle.
