One hour decant. Big, bold, alcoholic. But not one dimensional. The nose is Syrah dominated with savory mushroom/olive notes. After that the Grenache takes over with with bright red fruit with some weight and texture. The little bit of Tempranillo found me on the finish with some smooth lingering spice. This was my first turtle rock and it impressed. Stylistically it lines up with what many top Paso producers are doing right now, and it’s done really well here.
A cheerful nose, if not complex. Wonderful texture, a tad hot with pepper overtones. Quite yummy if not elegant. Paired nicely with steaks. 2 hr decant. Wine has softened quite a bit since last year. Left in decanter for 24 hours, wine is now quite a bit smaller in statute, and quite nice; reminiscent of aged CDP. The alcohol is really prominent however. Makes me wonder how the huge alcohol will work down the road.

Same as previous ratings (94) but continues to impress. The depth of fruit and layers of flavor make this so interesting. And still great with pizza. One hour decant and then back in the bottle, consumed over the next 2-3.

Dark cherry with a slight hint of pepper. Complimented the richness of our Father's Day Ribeye's!

57% Grenache, 28% Syrah, 12% Mataro?, and 3% Tempranillo. Interesting and excellent.
