Just another beautifully complex gamay from Chanrion. I’ve been moving through a broad range of reds over the last few weeks; all high quality. This is the one that made me smile.

Crushed raspberry, strawberry, crushed gravel, lilac, thyme, cinnamon, nutmeg, blueberry, rhubarb, pepper, hyacinth. Really exceptional stuff. Exceptional balance. Long mineral driven finish. Pronounced intensity. Great complexity, so much cool stuff going on here, and it's all working harmoniously. Very fine tannins. Very gulpable, but savoring the glass is greatly rewarded. Needs a solid chill, the alcohol is very high and distracts a lot of not cool enough.

So good with a bit of a chill on a hot day. Pomegranate, blackberry and loads of violet with some gravel and mellow black pepper on the finish
