I love every vintage of this wine, Le Ragnaie over performs at every price point and this is no exception. More rosemary/tobacco character and more tannin than I recall from 2020. Crunchy, accessible, delicious.

Unbelievable qpr. Elegantly, lightly sweet with uplifting acidity that keeps this so bright and fresh. Loads of citrus, apricot, pomegranate, linden, and a sleek mineral finish. Classic Dönnhoff, so chic and elegant. Delicious now but has enough sugar and acidity to last for decades.

Opened and immediately decanted. Light garnet with caramel colored bricking. Nose is mostly closed off at first but has dried cherry, faint dried herbal notes. Opens on the palate with dried black cherry, dried herbs and baking spices, soft sandalwood, faint eucalyptus. At two and a half hours this opened up with aromas of violet, fresh red fruit, orange peel and tobacco. The palate and tannins keep building with air as well, this picks up a lot of fresh cherry and red plum, and a lot of fresh minerality on the incredibly long finish. This is very primary, the tannins feel like they’ve barely budged since this was a young wine, and this has very high acidity so I won’t touch my other bottle for at least another 6+ years.
