Tasted blind. Over ripe dark plums, over ripe blueberries, wild game fat, cedar, tobacco, old leather and star anise on the nose. The fruits have a bit of a preserved/jammy quality Medium + intensity of aromas. Fruit forward on the palate, which adds flavors of raspberry pie and strawberry jam. Medium + intensity of aromas. Feels like it's from a warm climate; though it doesn't get too flabby.
Medium + body with medium + acid and medium tannins. Drink now, doens't feel like this is going to benefit from any further aging.
Call - 3-5 year old Côtes du Rhône. I felt great nailing this blind.

A real rocker of a Cotes de Rhone. Produced by the classic Chateauneuf producer La Nerthe. La Cassagnes is an area just north of Orange. The product itself is stunning. A well structured, well raised, well educated, top class CdRhone with an aroma-list that also contains black olives and raisins on top of the usual suspects.
🍽️ I combined this fine bottle with a fine Nepalese dish: Rogan Josh (lamb) 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Not crazy about 15% wines but this wore it well, especially one hour in once all fruit notes have nicely melded unfurling layer after layer of something different.
