Just like others say, it is predominantly oak and all the attributes that go along - vanilla, malolactic creaminess, cloves. Just enough juicy acidity to help offset the high alcohol. Tannins are barely present. This is not the wine to have when you're looking for "expression of terroir". This is really a party-with-the-neighbors type of bottle. But I will say that thanks to the light tannins, it does pretty good with food. I might prefer this over the usual Cab or Pinot that you get in a plastic cup in the lobby at the Philharmonic, too. Followed over six hours and it was still developing in a slightly positive direction, but I don't expect to see any real magic down the line with aging. The underlying structure and balance just don't warrant it. 4+11+15+7= 87

P&P; Lots of oak on this one, from the wood on the nose all the way to the vanilla on the finish. Decent black fruit showing after some air, along with baking spices and espresso. Good mid-week drinker. Drink now - 2029.

Definitely has that oaky over the top quality. A little leather and lots of oak on the nose. There’s not much you can say about the fruit because it’s so covered up by oak. Coffee gives way to vanilla on the mid-palate and it finishes with some darker fruit, baking spice and cane sugar. Very much not my thing.
