As Funkadelic once said this is 'Standing on the edge of getting it on'. When it does, watch out!
Right now, it is merely moderately sublime, but one feels that with another 5-10 years it will attain that hallowed German rating of 'Die Grosse Schtiffie Grippe' (and yes, I have chosen my die over der and das with care - think about it).
I adore the Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese, but this is arguably on another level again. There is more minerality and the luscious fruit is a little more subtle.
This reinforces my idiosyncratic view that in 2021, it is the Spätlese and Auslese styles that are the stars, not the dry styles. That would not be the consensus amongst professionals and the industry and you should keep that in mind.
I find the joy and quality of this wine directs me to Nanowar of Steel and their songs 'Uranus' and 'Norwegian Reggaeton'. It is essential to watch the video and have the translation on for Norwegian (unless you have the lingo down pat) and to do some research into Black Metal first. It is like researching the wine you drink - it adds to the pleasure.
More approachable at this point than the GH Spatlese. Some floral notes and white fruit. Wonderful balance. A really pretty Riesling that will age wonderfully for decades.

Fresh and mineral, with floral, exotic fruit, and citrus notes, beautiful minerality. Still a child.
Fresco e minerale, note floreali, di frutta esotica, agrumate, bellissima mineralità. Ancora un bambino.

Fresh and lively, without the funk of the Kabinetts. Really clean and crisp and powerful.
