  • Decanted for Easter dinner, for 20 minutes...if that before guests and myself began sipping, quaffing or inhaling. Nose of earth and cherry, not the classic wet forest floor or barnyard aspect, many Oregon pinots have. A medium bodied wine w/nice balance of acidity and tannin, this wine is an ager, as the acid is more pronounced,( and I really should have waited on this one), but the wine was delicious, and wanted our guests to enjoy an excellent Erath single vinyard pinot (arguably their best and will only get better w/age.) Leland always a winner, '05's continue to improve, drink now or hold 5-7 years.. Happy Easter!

  • Delicious! Great balance of fruit and strong minerality, made in a true Burgundian style, nothing like so many of the light flimsy west coast pinots out there. Quite young right now as it was a bit bitter until it decanted for an hour or two, once there it was fantastic! One of the best pinots I've had to date. (UPDATE: Have tried this several times since and it wows me every time! We love this bottle!)

  • Pretty nose of plush cherries and minerals. A high-tomed wine with bold acidity and lovely barnyardy cherry flavors. Finishes with great cut and possesses a saturated finish with a ton of minerals that linger beautifully on the tongue. A superb, Burgundian style of wine that should benefit from a couple more years of aging. This is really authentic Pinot Noir made in a vin de garde style.

  • After tasting a number of pinots at Erath, the Leland was delicious as always. Should continue to improve as the 05's seem to be doing.
