  • Not a marquee vintage, I thought this taillepieds would’ve been better. It was merely good. Taillepieds tastes of cherry to me and it certainly delivered. I just felt that the tannins were still a bit rougher than they should be at this stage and the length was short. I can’t see this improving without the fruit leaving. I’d heed Guillaume’s advice as he said that 2006 was a difficult vintage for the domaine.

  • Rather earthy nose. Palate is quite pure and fixed with a strong cherry fruit profile. Really lovely attack. Finish shows rather course tannins—and while lengthy not showing elegance. I suspect this will show further development.

  • Liked this but didn’t love it, pretty floral notes, with still quite a primary red fruit feel to the nose, palate is a touch austere but it’s got decent fruit and lots of acidity and tannins I think this needs allot more time to come together

  • Pop and pour, drunk over several hours.

Red fruited, a little floral, and ferrous on the nose. Mid weighted with good focus and hidden depth on the palate. Still a bit tight. It open up with time, has nice red fruits, some pastille and floral notes, with underlying stony- chalky, ferrous notes, but still has clamping dryness and metallic undertones on the finish. It is not to the unpleasant degree and dishwater notes that the Ducs had when I last tried it, but this is a bit angular and out of kilter right now. I will bury my remaining bottles for several more years and hope that come together. Focused, precise, and needing air time to come together. I hope this develops in time. Judgement reserved.
