Slow ox for 90 min followed by a full decant for 30 min before putting it back into the bottle to take to Chop's for another great meal with Gabriel and Linda.
Pnp'd there into glasses and enjoyed through another 3 hours til gone. This bottle has no element of the stewed plums that the last bottle exhibited. I'm rating it a point higher because of that alone. This is easily one of Kamen's premier wines over the years. It's dense, big mountain fruit but no jammy-ness or overbearing qualities. Just dense, perfumed dark red/black fruit and nice integration of the tannins at this stage with very well balanced acidity. Plenty of power, too. Just a beautiful wine......

So so damn good! Finally got to try a Kashmir after sipping in the Kamen lounge last year. This ‘12 exceeded my expectations! The lush black fruit is so sensational on the nose and palate. Its so mesmerizing that we kept going back to it. Just draws you in like a magnet. Addition of sumptuous notes of anise, nutmeg, cinnamon, sweet oak, and decadent milk chocolate while still retaining freshness. Ripe tannins on long lasting finish.

Three hour slow ox. Nearly opaque electric magenta color. Fig, balsamic glaze, stewed plum, anise, honeysuckle, and subtle white truffle on the nose. Super smooth, dry palate. Full, round tannins on the longish finish.
Another beautiful bottle Mark1NPT brought from Florida to Texas to share during a tremendous wine weekend. This has aged beautifully. This and the ‘07 Cardinale almost has me thinking I like aged wines. ;)

Given some slow ox before pouring but really began to sing after about 1-2 hours of air through the evening. Balsamic glaze notes on the nose, deep quality dark red fruit. Almost perfect integration. I don't think it improves from this point forward. This is smooth, beautiful fruit. The best Kamen has to offer and like so many of the Napa/Sonoma '12s, seems to display more stewed plum notes on the nose and palate than other vintages.
