Balsamic as hell on the nose to start. Like... where's my olive oil and ciabatta? Plum, cherry liqueur, acetone, and leather follow. The palate is more oak-focused, with strong notes of sawdust and maple syrup. It's a smooth operator, but there's enough tannins and brightness to keep things interesting, oak juice it ain't. Big and bold Sangiovese that would pair magnificently with a bistecca Fiorentina.
