  • The regular Brunello seemed quite close to the Madonna in 2019 based on this brief impression, with the Madonna just showing a bit more depth / concentration but also more tannin. As was the theme across most vintages, the straight Brunello was more texturally elegant and approachable.

On the nose, I found dark red to black cherry fruit, dark floral tones, bitter chocolate, and spices. The texture here is more medium in body with elegant tannins, more approachable than the big and tannic Madonna.

  • During a MOT dinner tasting, no detailed notes. Also very good, aromatic and silky palate. It does not need to hide next to the Madonna Grazie at the table. A no brainer for the price.
