Beautiful aged, fully resolved Gigondas. Classic mature notes with leather, sweet tobacco and a smokey note. Reveals its southern Rhône origin at the back of the palate with a slightly bitter garrique bite. Wonderful, drink now.

Community drinking window is definitely wrong on this one. This is drinking VERY well right now. Classic old Rhone nose. Wonderful bottle. We had it with black pepper and rosemary tuna...but I imagine this would have been KILLER with some lamb.

This was supposed to be a detox night, but after four days without power and water, frozen/burst pipes, and camping in our home in freezing temps, I'm drinking again. My wife as usual wanted Gigondas, so here we go with another bottle of this gem. Can Gigondas age 22+ years? This granddaddy did. Even better than the last bottle we opened. Full on mushrooms and forest floor. Yummy if that's your thing, as it is mine.

First of three bottles gifted by a fine friend who knows Gigondas is my wife's favorite. This one had a pristine cork and was decanted and filtered with minimal sediment. Flavor profile is all secondary, i.e., fungal and stewed fruit rather than fresh sweet fruit. We like that and think this is a fine, fully mature wine. It's not as complex or complete at 21+ years of age as a great CdP, but it certainly has held up well and rewards those who love good wine advanced in age. If you have it, drink, as its second peak was probably a few years ago, and it's still pretty good.

Third and final bottle, thanks to a dear friend. It you love mushrooms, you'll love this. Fully secondary in flavor and fully delicious.
