Community Tasting Notes (28) Avg Score: 93.3 points

  • Very pretty, very interesting, very complex. Different notes every time -- violets, then coca-cola including the cooling feel, then vivid green strawberries, then brandied cherries, then melon, then green bananas, etc etc. Always bright fruit with a hint of green/cooling. Slight undertones of meat but very subtle. Ditto slate and mineral. Tannins noticeable on the teeth but not offensive and adding good texture. Long finish, mostly on the violets and fresh green notes. Delicious. Ink dark purple color.

Why not higher score? It's all a little subtle and restrained. Possible that more decanting would open it up (was approx 45 minutes by the end).

  • Double decanted. Definitely better on night 2. Like others said, this is heavy on jammy berries and vanilla with some tobacco notes. Not too dissimilar from a Jamet style. But at times reminds me of a forgettable, inky Napa cab. Balanced and very tasty, but perhaps missing a bit of pop.

  • Slightly cloudy bright crimson color. Raspberry lemonade and strawberries on the nose. Refreshing blueberry on the attack followed quickly by intense raspberry with lemon in the finish. Quite tasty.

  • P&P, maybe should have decanted...it's a huge wine, full of fruit and a hint of alcohol heat. Blackberry, black cherry, woodsmoke, tar, and a bit of vanilla on the finish. Tannins and acidity are in harmony, if a little chunky at first (decant would likely smooth this out). Great wine from Maggie and team that is still developing...wish I had more! Drink now with air - 2034.
