Deep ruby color. Light violet aromas and a little cherry creamsicle on the nose. Plenty of acid and tannin. Not a super-vegetal wine but there is certainly an umami component. Earthy palate with iron and blood. The mouthfeel is a bit lighter than I'd like -- probably in the 1% milk range. Medium finish. I tend to like Cab Franc with pizza but I don't think this one would make a good match. Paired this with a sirloin roast with gravy.

Rustic and concentrated, with aggressive iron, graphite, broccoli, and mulberry notes when first opened. Acid and tannins both contribute to its rock-ribbed structure. I consumed this slowly over four days, by which time these elements had become smoother and better integrated, and the wine finer. A floral note has come into play. Hold! When its time comes (another five years?), this will be quite good.

initially blue fruit aromas, plums and blueberries, some vegetable on the nose as well, this version is chewy, with more tannin than the other designations, plums, stones, graphite, black cherry, finishes dry, with earth and green character, matches alright with roasted lamb, others thought there were metallic tastes with this wine, I like it, very true to land and varietal, will last
