Quite dark garnet in the color, just a hint of bricking. This has solidly entered a tertiary phase; forest floor, damp earth, decaying leaves, wild mushrooms, as well as dark cherries and raspberries. The fruit is present, quite savory in character. Medium acidity, tannins are low and very fine. Nice complex interplay of the red fruits and earthy savory components, though lacking a touch in the mid-palate. Very nice, in a good spot of its evolution to my palate, but not mind-blowing.

2002 Burgs (Noize): Full and spicy on the nose, very open, with some damp undergrowth. Lots of sweet red fruit on the palate and an exotic note like asafoetida, and a long finish. Lovely wine, but slightly overshadowed by the evening's other NSGs.

Nick A's 2002 Burgundy Horizontal (Table B) (Noizé, London): This is another belter. The cool red fruits have some exotic accompaniments, I think some subtle crystalised ginger and some peonies. Palate much more open then the Grivot initially but still not fully open for business with time in the glass there is some softening but still a wine that will be better in 5+ years

Probably at its best right now. The tannins combine well with the body. A little violet, and dark-colored berries. very typical NSG notes and I am curious how it will compare to the Meo-Camuzet version.

Intense, meaty, bovril, purple, violets. Quite lifted, barolo like. Needs more time.
