Another “dark side” wine; big and fleshy, iron, meaty. Coming 6th in a line of beautiful Chambolle wines, this lacked a bit of charm to stand out in the crowd. Solid wine but I would undoubtedly enjoy it more if it was showing at least some secondary character. Retry in 10 years. 91+ now

great aromatics and starting to mature a bit, still a baby, but good already. very classic but the fruits were somewhat hidding, a few more years would benefit this wine.

Medium ruby color, no real signs of age. Nose was a bit muted, cherry and dried flowers. Palate was bright red fruits, rose/floral, savory notes and classic bacon fat. Good secondary characteristics through the mid palate. Medium finish.
This is nicely aged at this point, I think right in it's zone. Tannins are softened, showing secondary flavors, bright and elegant. Hard to say if it will continue to improve, my guess is this will be at its best over the next 3-5 years.

It had some purple fruit, strawberries, flower, and oak on the nose. The palate had a good structure with good red and purple fruit. However, the oak component was overwhelming. Its a bigger than usual 07. Hopefully the oak will integrate with time.

Dinner organized by Mark T - Generous group of wine enthusiasts, BYO evening, outstanding chef's tasting meal (Vic's Restaurant - New York City): This one brought by Mark, had this after the Volnay Santenots. Had been open about 45 minutes, we drank over the course of the evening.
