Community Tasting Notes (7) Avg Score: 91 points

  • Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank a couple glasses over 3 hours. Robert's wine up at The Ranch with me and Dad. Cassis, sweet mulberry, nice black and blue notes on the nose, tobacco. The palate is dark with prominent tannins, blackberry, black raspberry, soil and gravel, tobacco, fairly rustic. Give it a little air. 90 to 90+pts.

  • Fully ready to go with its medium/full-bodied, earthy cherry, plum, leaf, coffee and tobacco-oriented character. Round, earthy, sweet and fresh with loads of ripe cherries and a touch of licorice in the finish.

  • Didn't show well on this evening. Appeared a bit over-extracted, with lots of chocolatey oak on the nose and palate. There's no denying the level of fruit, with lots of cassis and blackberry, along with chocolate, tobacco, truffle, and violets. But it just felt a little clunky on the palate. Tannins were a bit forward. Finish nicely but with a hint of heat. Perhaps this was in a very awkward phase...

  • Just bought my second case. $49.99 I have had 2 bottles already. This is a very fine wine. However just like before, on the second day, the taste becomes fuller with the wish that I (and wife) had not drunk most of it the first day.
And like before the I expect the last bottle of the case will be golden. You can see an earlier review. It is well worth the price.

  • Paid $49.95. Have had 8 bottles, most have been tightly closed, but the last two bottles have been perfect. Full body, highly recommended. I did not post earlier because I knew it deserved a great score. Glad I waited.
