  • 13.5% alcohol, imported by International Cellars, Gonzales, CA; appears to be composition cork, foil is paper thin; medium to fast legs, medium brown/red, vinturied and tasted right afterwards at ca 12 degrees C; subdued nose of cherries & citrus + alcohol; taste of earth, minerals, fruit, cherries, beets, rhubarb; sour predominates but just slightly, tannins are subdued, medium bodied; pair with steak; aged about 14 years and still quite drinkable

  • This last bottle was well beyond its prime but was not so far gone to call it flawed. Still had lots of fruit and a typical merlot nose but with a bit of earthiness to it. The flavors still developed for about an hour after opening but then started ging down hill. IF anyone has this wine Drink it tonight...way in the past in about 2010 I rated several bottles in the 83-86 range -- now it is on it's last legs.

  • The wine is well byond its time. There is a bit of Merlot fruit but the oxidation has taken over as the main flavor-- Its not too bad to make it totally undrinkable but it detracts significantly from the wine and its past enjoyment. Rated 73 as is
