Saturday hangout at Domaine (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. Oily and thick, with some unpleasant bitter notes on the finish immediately had me thinking Rhone white, but the acid profile was definitely more Chardonnay. Just not my cup of tea, no matter what.
I found one lonely bottle on a recent inventory. Drank with sushi and blew everyone away who was lucky enough to taste. Expressive, impeccably balanced taking on subtle Carmel notes. Fabulous California Chardonnay.

The wine that salvaged a night of disappointing tasting. A terrific wine that is at the end of its drinking window. You can hold, but it is not getting better in my view. Better to drink now.

Popped and Poured Medium yellow, green tinge; huge ripe pineapple nose- you have to love pineapple to drink this "early"- after 3 hrs the pine apple was almost gone- replaced by hazelnuts, sweet dough, lime, and light allspice aroma's; big body through out the evening- very forward, did not seem completely knit together; very full body, smooth, rich creme brulee type of finish; very long, very sl hot at the end. I'd guess this bottle had 5-10 yrs of life left.

Still going strong. No change from earlier note. Well into its window, with perhaps a few years to go.
