PNP. Light yellow color. Beautiful nose, very on point showing lemon, iodine, oyster shell and honey. Very lively palate, deep lemon infused flavors with a lovely saline infused texture and a long citrus rind finish. Just a perfect accompaniment to a dozen New Brunswick oysters.

On the palate, it is still very primitive for a 15-year-old wine. The wine has it all: tension, freshness, fruit, salinity, balance and structure. But Raveneau struggles to kindle an emotion in me. The whole is serious, it is floral and on the white fruits, big acidity which coats everything and contributes to this feeling of rigor. Intense finish on wet stone with good length.
It’s objectively excellent but not my style.

(François Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru Valmur) Light canary yellow color; nice apple, cream, pear nose; tasty, tight, tart pear, tart apple, mineral palate with a touch of green herb and balance; medium-plus finish

Some nice Burgundies (Chicago, IL): Sadly corked. This was clearly an impressive wine though, with iodine and lemon oil notes that I really enjoyed.

One of the more intact and energetic '08 Raveneau that I have had in recent memory

A bit too buttery and creamy. Good acidity structure. I would not wait longer. 94
