2007 Tablas Creek Grenache $27 in private cellar liquidation sale. Mid-garnet, brick edges; peppery, strawberry jam, hyacinth nose; mid-body; balanced; some style; good fruit and flavor; round finish; a little hot (15.3 alc.).

Had difficulty removing cork as it crumbled while extracting. Decanted, then had to strain it thru cheese cloth to remove all the very small cork pieces. However, it was very good once it was ready to drink.

Recently purchased from a reputable retailer. (Maybe they picked it up from a cellar purchase / auction program they have?) Whereas I've found many Tablas Syrahs more Northern Rhone, this Grenache was Sud all the way, a ringer for a very nice CdP or environs. I've got a bit of a love-hate with the ripe-nearly-baked style, but this pulls it off perfectly. It is the earth that's baked, not the fruit. Rich and high octane (15.3%) but perfectly contained, showing with dried herbs and spices along with plums and baked cherry. This is ready to drink!

Drinking beautifully right now. Last time I had this bottle was 4 years ago. I said it would drink nicely through 2018. I was right. It is perfect now, lovely. Drink it up.

Very big wine at a nice point in its evolution. Would live to try again in another 5-10 years, unfortunately this was my only bottle
