I decanted this bottle for 45 min. before drinking along with a thin crispy supreme pizza. With the pizza it is realy good. Alone, it isn't a good choice for a glass before dinner.

Perfectly decent Chianti. Starts off a bit tannic, but opens up to very nice cherry notes, with smoother (and softer) tannins after a half hour or so. Nice and straightforward, reasonably powerful -- albeit a bit off-balance when the wine opens up -- wine for with pasta.
Drink through 2011.

Chianti Blind at the Wine Club (The Wine Club, Santa Ana): Served blind. Fat bland nose showing some brett. The most classically styled of the day showing its secondary characters over the fruit and oak in a rustic spicey way. Nothing great but something you don't see a lot of for those who like the funk.

Nice surprise for the dough. Traditional chianti nose and taste. A good buy and a good match with pizza.
