I did not enjoy this much, treacle, burnt marmalade, sherry on the nose; very sweet and cloying. Perhaps this bottle was slightly oxidised also. Not great.

The nose is fabulous - opulent and fragrant. It's let down by the taste, sadly, which is too sweet and lacking in both acidity and complexity to elevate this above a basic table wine. A greengage jam character dominates, which is delicious, but not enough. There's a little too much alcohol apparent, though I was still surprised by the abv stated on the bottle. Still, it must be hard to find a cheaper dessert wine. [DWWA Bronze; Plastic 'cork'; 15% abv; Asda, on offer around £3.30]
