Very good but never truly opened up and blossomed after 2 hour decant and over 1 hour consumption. A bit tight with high toned tannins. Dark fruited with notes of tobacco and coal dust buried beneath the surface. Hoped for more. Think there's plenty of life left.

Really blossomed after four hours as it became velvety and balanced - although there was a fruitier, edgier pleasure right out of the bottle. Very fragrant. Strong cassis flavor and nose.

Meander / Aiken Wine Dinner; 10/20/2014-10/21/2014 (80 Thoreau (Concord, MA)): Nose: Massive nose of Black Cherry, Cassis, Smoke, Chocolate and Espresso bean. Waves of perfume come off of this one. Palate: Silky smooth with powdery tannins. Bold Blackberry/Cherry attack that settles in to give velvety currant, chocolate and tobacco tones. Finish: Impressively long and penetrating.
This is a wine that shows off the Morisoli component of the other wines and kind of stops you in your tracks.

Tasted with Amy Aiken. This was amazingly rich with really good structure. The best Napa Cab I tasted on this trip which included Phelps (at Insignia event), Hall, Vineyard 7&8, Schweiger, Ladera, Tor Kenward, Relic and Keenan. Big fruit but controlled and not at all over the top. Balanced and lomg, long finish. Amazingly ready to drink. Find it. Buy it. For a great QPR try the Meander Napa "08 cab. Not quite as rich but half the price and almost as good.
