Loads of papaya, mango and guava on the nose with flecks of minerals and wet stones, too. Medium+ body, with layers of tropical fruit, but a bit too much ripeness for my taste. I think it's just past peak, and the low acidity doesn't help that cause. It tries to be showy (and fails), but still, a good food wine. Drink thru 2011, $13 (closeout).

WOW. This is one powerful, rich, extracted PG, and surprisingly still fresh and lively for being almost 5 years old. The nose alone is satisfying enough. Stone fruits, nectarine, honey, crushed flowers, it never ends. I didn't really want to drink it, just wanted to smell it for the rest of the night. The palate follows through with rich peaches, mango, some glycerol notes, not too much minerality, but enough to add complexity. The acidity is a little on the soft side, and the body is very full bodied. This bottle was open for almost 24 hours before it was finished, and it remained fresh the entire time. My favorite of the Albrecht's thus far. 92+

Dark brown. Roasted apple, honey, soft. Way over the hill, but kind of enjoyable anyway.

Papaya, exotic fruits with a spicy mid pallet and on the finish.
