Opened this last night, a very juicy shiraz that definitely punches above the original RRP ($20). It is good but hasn’t come together completely. It still as dark as can be, a touch oaky and some OJ acid but has a classy style about it that makes it all enjoyable and interesting. Very more-ish this one and no huge rush on opening, it is still quite primary.

A $15AUD Clare Valley shiraz that will go 10 years. A brownish tinge. The nose is like sticking your face in a cigar box. Has dark fruits as well, perhaps some blueberry. Palate has balanced out well, still a slight greenish tinge, which has been detected in previous notes. Tannins prominent, yet smooth. Not tired at all, good to go with some time ahead of it.
Gone full cycle on this one. Six years on, this is still quite primary, still a big wine. A deep purple colour, lovely nose of dark fruits. Has a more balanced palate than what my previous notes suggest eucalypt and licorice supplementing the fruit, quite prominent tannin. Plenty of time left in this one. There are quite a few layers to this, interesting to see how it evolves.

Acid strong but solid release from a low-middle range wine. Easily last another 3 to 5 under screwcap. Youthful really and good drinking now.

Did not enjoy as much this time around. It is not a completely balanced wine, it has quite a gren finish. I don't think time will resolve.
