Popped & poured without decant. Dark inky color; almost mysterious in nature. The nose offered little- this is a very tight wine. There's very nice dark fruit cloaked by very apparent but silky tannins. Bright acids and relativelty low alcohol (13.9%) keep this wine balanced. It drinks very much like a great Petite Sirah; it's multi-dimensional with many layers. This wine opened up quite a bit over 45 minutes; I saved half for later to see how it develops. Although it drinks great now with a little air time I believe it will improve quite a bit with 2 to 3 more years of bottle age. This is likely not a long term ager, but I see it improving through 2012 and drinking well through 2016 (or longer).
Drank on second & third day; it only became better. I suspect this wine may have a longer life than I thought.

Nice plum and fruit balance through to the finish. Lot's of sediment in the bottle though.

An interesting but slightly syrupy wine. Certainly worth $5. More of a party/cocktail wine.

Lots of sediment, so will need to filter the end of the bottle. Good flavors / good value. Nice earthy taste and reasonable finish.
