Still an opaque, purplish colour. Nose with dark berries including blackberries, chocolate, some sweet notes of dried and cooked berries, hints of tar and of volatile acidity. Semi-sweet on the palate, dark berries, good concentration of fruit, very fine acidity, some spices and tannins, and a long fresh aftertaste of slightly tart berries. Very finely balanced (the 16.8% alcohol is not much in evidence) rather than a blockbuster in terms of sweetness. Doesn't show much age. 92 pts.
This not refers to the 2007 Rivesaltes Grenat
